Christine Ross is an Arrernte/Eastern Arrernte/ Kaytetye woman who was born in Mpartnwe (Alice Springs), grew up in Darwin and moved to Boorloo (Perth) 23 years ago.
Her employment career is extensive including 20 years in Education both in the NT & WA, 7 years in the Resource Sector in WA, including experience in the Hospitality and Media Sector. Christine is very passionate about employment opportunities for Aboriginal people which requires ‘thinking outside the square’, she has developed and assisted Companies to implement their RAPs and Aboriginal Employment Strategies. As a high-profile Aboriginal person Christine has spoken at many National and International conferences and has over 30 years of experience delivering Cultural Awareness Programs. Her current Program ‘Ways of Working with Aboriginal People’ is in high demand in Boorloo with Clients ranging from WA Govt, Corporates, AIM WA and the Hotel Sector.
Christine has Facilitated the highly successful ‘Black Coffee Networking Event’ held monthly in Boorloo, it is a fabulous opportunity for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Businesses to come together to look at opportunities to work together.
Christine has organised several key Events/ Conferences across Australia to promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Woman including several Aboriginal Women in Mining Conferences in Perth in 2012 – 2015. Including one of the largest gatherings in Sydney of our woman in 2018 to celebrate the NAIDOC Theme ‘Because of Her, We Can’.
She has organised several International Women’s Day Events in Boorloo since 2017 celebrating and sharing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Voices.
Christine established her own Consultancy in 2015 specialising in Aboriginal Employment Programs,Training, Mentoring and Facilitating Aboriginal Conferences and Forums.
